Project Title: Multicultural Family Resource Center

Project Description:

The purpose of this project is to establish a Multicultural Family Resource Center that will provide culturally and linguistically appropriate support and services to multicultural, low-income families with children with disabilities who reside in the Highline, Kent, and Federal Way School Districts south of Seattle, WA.

The Multicultural Resource center will assist multicultural families with children with disabilities to access information, resources and available services and benefits. Multicultural families with children with disabilities will thereby be actively involved in and participate meaningfully in their children’s education. Youth with disabilities and their families will increase engagement in the transition to adulthood planning process.

The contents of this Community Parent Resource Center Project were developed under a grant from the US Department of Education, #H328C110005. However, those contents do not necessarily represent the policy of the US Department of Education, and you should not assume endorsement by the Federal Government. Project Officer, Carmen Sanchez.

We are a federally funded resource center, major projects at Open Doors are funded by the Community Parent Resource Center Grant and United Way of King County.
