Special Education Summer Youth Program

12 youth took part in Open Doors’ Summer Youth Program this year. They met 4 days a week for 4 weeks and got training in job readiness and advocacy skills, got connected to college preparation resources and built leadership and social skills. *Priority was given to students of diverse cultural backgrounds. image The program also included:

  • Practicing interviews/writing resume
  • Money management
  • Healthy meal preparation
  • Riding Metro & public transit
  • Using community center
  • CPR classes (certification)
